You must edit the sysusers table and remove the user before you assign the
same username to it again.

Subject: msSQL backup/restore & CF
Hello All,
I have a MSSQL 7 /CF problem.
I have a database on one msSQL 7.0 server and am trying to move it via
backup/restore from this server to another msSQL 7.0 server in another
domain. The problem is that when the file is restored all the database table
retain the 'owner' (a login account) which existed on the old server. This
owner does not exist on the new server.
I cannot seem to add another user and allow it ownership. I have tried
creating the exact user before the restore but to no avail. I have even
tried deleting the owner and applying a new one. No Luck!
When I try and query this database using a username and password, it will
not work. The database does verify when left blank, but when querys are
tried, an error occurs.
How do I move a database, including all the stored procedures etc from one
server to another without running into this ghost owner account?
Any help appreciated.
Brian
