Ok, I'm going to restate my original problem. Maybe someone has some
guidance. I, along with two other developers here in the office, am still
banging my head against the wall. I don't think I explained by problem very
well the first time, so here goes a more specific example. Consider this
data set:

PK | fname | lname | email | rank
---------------------------------------
13 | Bob | Jones | [EMAIL PROTECTED] | 1
24 | Jason | Byars | [EMAIL PROTECTED] | 1
35 | Jim | Davis | [EMAIL PROTECTED] | 1
46 | Sue | Jones | [EMAIL PROTECTED] | 2
57 | Lynn | Davis | [EMAIL PROTECTED] | 2
68 | Nate | Smith | [EMAIL PROTECTED] | 2

The result I am looking for would be the PK column of each row which meet
the following criteria:

1) Eliminate rows containing duplicate email addresses.
2) In case that a row is eliminated, the selected row should be the top row
when ordered in this fashion: "ORDER BY rank, lname, fname, pk".

The valid result in this case would be the following set of data:
"13,24,35,68"

Thanks!
