This is a hard problem to describe since I have never come across it before.

I use database replication to publish data from one database to another. So,
since I am moving to a new sql server, I have to set up the database for
publishing to its subscribers. When I open Enterprise manager and choose
"Tools, Replication, Create and Manage Publications" I get the error I
mentioned before.

In Enterprise Manager under SQL Server Group it lists the SQL server as
"(Loacl) (Windows NT)". I am assuming, based on the error message, that the
server cant be named that and that I need to change the name. So how do I do
this with as little work as possible?
