Thats what keyword arguments are for: sane defaults.
i *do* remember someone reminding me that "explicit is better than
implicit", now who was that ? :)

Beautiful is better than ugly.
Readability counts.
All in good fun, of course, but what use would a global ProxyEngine
be if I had to pass it into every contructor? ;)
