Or even MetaSchema....

You already have SEQUENCE. Tomorrow you will have VIEW and who knows what else (PROC, FUNC)...
If you all realy like the name Schema as I do, maybe your first proposal VirtualSchema is not so bad at all.On 4/13/06, Michael Bayer < [EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote:
im liking TableSpace at the moment. Tables are the primary thing it
stores, and everything else inside of it is directly associated with a
Table, except for a Sequence which is indirectly associated with a Table.
Table is also the only object that receives an explicit TableSpace
argument, everything else is added via their association with some Table.
there can also be TableStore, TableRegistry (if we really think oracle
folks just cant handle a name overlap, even though an oracle tablespace
concept is specific to its configuration and usually not at all used
within application design, id say TableRegistry).
I think the problem with SchemaWhatever implies that you put "Schemas"
inside the "Whatever", which is not really the case. SchemaItemWhatever
is just too long (SchemaItem is the base class for Table,Column,
ForeignKey, etc.)
