I was using the latest trunk and was about to post that there seemed to be an issue with setting the blank list (separate from tracking every column) since it didn't seem to get flushed properly and you have fixed that too. I've update to 1629 and what I am doing now works fine but I'll take a look at the association object pattern. Thanks again.
