Hi all, Thanks Michael and Ezio for your comprehensive answers. I am not sure if the performance of comparing integers is really that much faster than comparing strings (assuming the strings are indexed), but the idea, that both of you have mentioned has got me convinced: If I want to have a flexible structure (in case I'd like to extend my keywords with search_stats, keyword_groups or something similar), then the many-to-many design with 3 tables is definitely better. So, I will use that approach.
Thanks and have a nice weekend, Martin ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Using Tomcat but need to do more? Need to support web services, security?
