im not sure if someone had mentioned that mxDateTime has more capabilities
than the one built in to python; i had a notion that someone should write
an SA extension that provides mxDateTime-aware versions of the date and
time types in the sqlalchemy types module.  just something to think
about....(particularly if there is an advantage to mxdatetime)
