I'll add that trying to connect from the terminal using the command line utility as such:
mysql go_latest --user='go_select' --password='amigo' --port='4085' - h mysql.ebi.ac.uk ERROR 1040 (08004): Too many connections Gives the same exact error - I presume the problem is on Gene Ontology's end then and not mine?
