that particular behavior is likely not documented right now outside of the 
source code.    Ticket 2501 http://www.sqlalchemy.org/trac/ticket/2501 aims to 
provide more options here, so documentation of the overall behavior would 
likely be bundled into a discussion about that feature.   

There’s no formal specification for the UOW’s behavior though if someone wants 
to write one for us that would be great.
