I would like to put on the record that this is a very bad idea. The extra confusion will trump the mere savings of what... 100kb of space per parser/producer pair? In this case can I count your vote for a unified version number (what I did with 1.99 basicallt)? If yes - are you happy with the current value? The lowest we can use is 1.54 (currently on CPAN, numbers can not go back).
