[sqlite] PHP extention

Im a bit confused as to where i get a sqlite.so for php.
When i build sqlite from source it does not place a sqlite.so anywhere 
in my system.
Using 'pear install sqlite' isnt good becuase its an out of date version.
So how can i get a sqlite.so library for php? is this a third party thing?

ps. one last thing, a few people on  irc.freenode.net:6667  have formed 
a sqlite channel (#sqlite). This is a much more effective way of dealing 
with tech questions then this mailing list so feel free to join up.
