Err, I dont believe that for a second.

I've read report on report in recent months that state the exact opposite of that situation.

In fact, if you installed an up to date Linux distro, with sensible passwords and services installed then you wouldnt get hacked for months - Something must have gone wrong in your non-sceientific example. ( Even if you didnt keep it up to date )

I've also installed windows servers myself ( accidentally leaving them online ) and had them hacked and compromised before i've been able to even get to windows update!! Horrendous.
