Could you please briefly describe what sources shell.c is now generated from? Unrelated, but also about shell.c, there was a recent thread about "Using .testcase and .check in continuous integration test" where a 1-char change in shell.c resolved the OP's issue, which I thought was a reasonable and logical one to make; and that thread also requested your input on that change. Did you miss it? Do you agree with that change? And is it in 3.21.0? Or likely to be in a future release?
