Yesterday (2008-12-17) some spammer someplace started an email
promotion of an "enhancement" product. The forged sender addresses
on the spam emails all use the "sqlite.org" domain. The emails
then bounce back to our servers - overwhelming them.

Be assured that the sqlite.org server is not itself the source of
any of this spam. We have double- and triple-checked everything.
The logs all clearly show that nothing is being sent from sqlite.org.

But the sqlite.org server is trampled with thousands and thousands
of bounce messages.

The server is still running well enough that web traffic is getting
through. So you should still be able to visit the website. But
the mail server (postfix) is buckling under the load.

I do not know of anything I can do to resolve this issue. I think
we will just have to wait until the spam stops.

If anyone reading this message knows of anything we can do
with our postfix email system to address this problem, please
contact me directly: D. Richard Hipp +1.704.948.4565. Tnx.
