Venkat, If you have a ".db" file it almost certainly *is* an sqlite database. A great attribute of sqlite databases is that they are contained in a single file.
If you're looking for a GUI frontend, they are legion, including good free ones such as sqlite3explorer and a plug-in sqliteManager for firefox webbrowser.
