Actually, I think Roger's response is very correct. SQLite works on
countless hardware and operating system combinations, and as a
standalone database or as a library compiled in other applications,
accessed directly or via higher level languages. The only thing that
really makes sense is to benchmark against your own conditions and see
if you experience and benefits or drawbacks.

Let's say I were to respond to you and say, "YES, I EXPERIENCED 33%
PERFORMANCE INCREASE," and you go ahead based on that and upgrade, and
then all hell breaks loose as your app starts performing even worse
than before. What then?
