Are you sure that it's compiler? If it is then it's a very non-standard unusual name. gcc usually named exactly like that 'gcc' and probably it's in /usr/libexec/gcc/i386-redhat-linux/4.1.1/bin/. But if there's nothing there and 'cc1 --version' outputs that it's indeed GNU C Compiler then you can make an additional link to it nearby and name it 'gcc'.
