  Yeah, I actually found the specific check-in for this and looked at
  the diffs.  It looks like it has been there, in some form, for some
  time.  I suspect I'm mis-remembering a big discussion from some months
  ago about why a generated table that uses a numeric expression doesn't
  have numeric columns, or something like that.
