Perhaps, but considering how easy it is to add your own functions, the motivation for putting stuff into the core is very low. There are several third-part extensions that import a whole slew of functions. I also wasn't kidding when I said that exposing a system crypt() function to the SQL layer is a 15 minute task for someone that has written a few of them before. -j -- Jay A.
