I've built sqlite-3.6.22 on 64-bit SPARC and it installs ok. I can't speak for the latest version. I added -m64 to both CFLAGS and CXXFLAGS. I think the latter is unnecessary, but Sqlite is used as part of the Sage project, and we tend to build most things like that.
