I am not an expert in SQL, but how about:
set sqlRoads {}
foreach road $roads {
lappend sqlRoads "'$road'"
}
db eval [list insert into myTable VALUES([join $sqlRoads ,])]
That way, the values are properly formatted, delimited by single quotes
and separated by commas.
