thank you for your accurate analysis of the submitted problem,
it really helped to bring my aging neurons back to a
consistent state. :)
I use extensively views with databases because this facilitates
the handling of complex data constructions but, as with any methodology,
this has its drawbacks, as shown in the submitted case where I landed
unintentionally into uncharted territory.
The alternatives pointed out by your query examples will be
very useful in bringing my schema corpus back on track.
