[sqlite] Best compression for sqlite3 ?

Hello,

I would like to know if some of you know a good compression tool to run with 
sqlite.

I worry about the size because other implementations (hamsterdb) shave approx 
40-50% of the sqlite size for the same datas.

I saw about zipvfs but will it be maintained in the future ? Are there 
efficient alternative ?

Any hints is very welcome,
