If you are going to use their product and pay money for it, I would recommend that you get a warranty in writing that their product works for multiuser database access (including updates) via a shared filesystem using the embedded server. Often one must take with a boulder of salt most of the claims made by product marketing organizations. Most vendors will not provide you with a list of bugs, caveats, and restrictions prior to purchase, only afterwards when you have problems -- except for a very rare few.
