I'm looking for a release of SQLite that included extended text functionality; specifically, the SQL Server charindex function.
Is there any reason not to include more text functions into the core SQLite release? I'm sure many of us would like to see them and ease the burden of workarounds. For the record, I'm not a C programmer, and have no idea how to go about compiling and linking external function libraries using u*ix; I use a Mac, and while OS/X has a u*ix ancestor, there are no clear step-by-step instructions on how to compile and link on a Mac that I've found. Thank you, Eric Kestler -- Plan A is always more effective when the device you are working on understands that Plan B involves either a large hammer or screwdriver....
