It is essentially the same change, and made on the day I sent
the bug report for the first time. I conclude it was made
because of my bug report, even though I haven't seen the bug
report back on the mailing list, or seen any response.

Some sort of feedback would have been nice.

I'll let you know what happens when sqlite-3.14 is released.
