I got it working locally, and it passes all _my_ tests. The key was to prevent 
the childName-column to be overridden by the parents child-name column. So 
now, things work as you wanted them to be.

I'm seeing if I'd be able to get a svn-version, patch it, and run the tests. 
For now, I've got to continue writing my application, but I'm quite happy so 
far.

I'll look into the wiki/documentation stuff as well.
