I can assure you SQLObject 0.8.0 works with 2.3, 2.4 and 2.5 - I run the test suite regularly. Python 2.2 has been declared obsolete in the trunk (the code that will become version 0.9) and support for 2.2 will finally be removed after 0.9 release.
