Recently I used that snippet to connect to a database in ./data/aci.sqlite

    import os
   
    if os.name == 'nt':
        dsn = 'sqlite:/' + os.path.abspath('./data/aci.sqlite')
        dsn = dsn.replace(":\\", "|\\")
    elif os.name == 'posix':
        dsn = 'sqlite://' + os.path.abspath(os.path.join('data', 
'aci.sqlite'))
