Centura Software Featured in Two Butler Group Reports as Leader in
Mobilizing the Enterprise
REDWOOD SHORES, Calif - September 1, 2000 - Centura Software has been
featured in two Butler Group reports highlighting Centura Team Developer
(CTD) 2000 and eSNAPP 2.0.

In "Technology Audit: Centura Team Developer 2000" Butler Group
analyst Gary Cooper calls CTD 2000 the "leading edge of development tools,"
examining the urgent need for distributed e-commerce and enterprise
applications scaling to thousands and eventually millions of users. CTD 2000
is the premier development environment for building strategic, e-Business
and mobile computing systems by efficiently and securely extending
enterprise systems from the back-office to the Web and to mobile and
wireless devices. The report focuses on the benefits of CTD 2000, in
particular, its ability to deploy a single version of an application to
various environments including Windows, the Web and wireless. The report
finds CTD 2000's support for Microsoft's Distributed interNet Application
(DNA) model is what sets it apart from the competition.

In a separate report, Cooper examines Centura Software's eSNAPP 2.0, a
connectivity server that securely extends the power of business data and
rich applications to hand held and Information Appliances. The report
identifies mobile workers' need for smaller data-centric hand held devices
that keep them abreast of their market sector in real-time. eSNAPP 2.0
connects a wide range of mobile devices through wireless networks to
centralized data in real-time - enabling decision-making based on up-to-the
minute information. Among the various features of eSNAPP 2.0 is its ability
to provide secure transmission of critical business data with its
patent-pending triple DES 128-bit encryption technology that makes
end-to-end communication and data storage secure. Cooper highlights this
unique feature as a major benefit of eSNAPP 2.0.
