The picture shown is from Logitech Media Server (LMS)/Advanced/File
Types. Info reads: LMS can concert audio file formats one-the-fly for
playback on your player. There are three columns: File Format, Stream
Format, and Decoder.

1) Why under a particular file format does it show multiple stream
formats?

2) What is the relationship of the stream format to the decoder?

So I currently use a quality DAC that upsamples to either 96kHz or
192kHz, PCM.

If I'm streaming TIDAL HiFi (FLAC-based, 16-bit/44.1kHz) what actually
takes place?

Does the Squeezebox detect the DAC's PCM requirement and decode the FLAC
to PCM?
