They should not really clutter if they point to the same files as the playlist are made from ? Then LMS will see that it is a duplicate entries and the same file and thus not ass it to the dB again .
However if the files pointed to in the playlist are not in the music directory */mnt/music/beets* they will be added . So some playlists pionts to */mnt/random* . thats it . Files in playlist outside the defined music directory will be added . But for LMS to be able to use the playlist ,the files must be added to the database ? A catch 22 if its not in the dB LMS would not know about it and the file has album and artist info ..... Workarounds . However i think in the latests LMS you can browse folders outside of LMS without adding them to the dB (there is asetting somewhere and even drag and drop them in the web-UI (latest 7.9 ) You can always advocate for someone to develop a plugin or a setting for hiding files from any view but playlist if they are outside the defined library (but they must still be in the dB) .. I dont know how easy or hard that would be to code . Afiak there is no straightforward setting for it . -------------------------------------------------------------------- Main hifi: Touch + CIA PS +MeridianG68J MeridianHD621 MeridianG98DH 2 x MeridianDSP5200 MeridianDSP5200HC 2 xMeridianDSP3100 +Rel Stadium 3 sub.
