Yup, agreed that "stable" is not a solution. I've run "unstable" for over 15 years now, on my main desktop, and internet-facing server, and very rarely had a problem that wasn't quickly sorted. and I get far less issues than friends running the latest stable Ubuntu, etc. Debian stable is just way too out of date for me.
I wasn't aware that the 5.22 issue, which has just broken LMS for me too, had a quick solution, other than entirely building your own, which I was going to try next.
