I really would go with the squeezebox radio. I bought a used one a week ago for 100 and i couldn't be more happy with it. I also searched for an alternative but having a display and controls on the device is not easily achivable with 3rd party hardware. Also this thing sounds amazing so if you can get one in good condition go for it!
