Hmmmmmmmmm... If you have no Files folders like Røyksopp you may would see that message but there is no need for "strange" / UTF-8 lang settings. If you change that setting and dont use a mount / Disk that supports utf-8 your setup isnt complete. @ EMC2: look into the scanner.log it should told you something/the file/folder that has problems.
