That's pretty old for a 7.9. I did indeed add some code to later 7.9 which does deal with the kind of Spotify URIs.
Squeezebox 2 Classic, Plugins installed Triode Spotify v2.3.9. and Logitech Spotify v1.0 Favorite: URL: spotify:user:spotify:playlist:2jvJnYj1DfCT1tX0Otp8z7
Triode's plugin has seen some issues recently due to changes on Spotify's end. And I'm not even sure it was ever able to handle this kind of URI?
I tested it using the latest 7.9 plus my Spotify Handler plugin (which is a stripped down version of Triode's). And it played the list correctly.
