I'm sure this is because one of the files has a sort tag. Open all your billy joel files in something like mp3tag.** In mp3tag, select files, right click, then select "extended tags". You'll likely find at least one file that has ARTISTSORT or ALBUMARTISTSORT with "Joel, Billy". If even one file has this tag set, then all instances of the artist will show up under the sort name in LMS.
