Thanks for your help, its sorted I checked the user guide of the boom and it indicated that the boom would detect automatically linein input. So I connected the source again, and lo and behold, this time, line in appeared on the screen and also in the 'Extras' menu on the web user interface. Probably didn't connect the cable properly the first time....
