The downside to using LMS DLNA plugin is scanning takes much longer if
you have Video content and has been known to bork. If your requirement
is primarily music with video secondary then I'd run a separate Twonky
(or similar) for the TV and leave LMS for music only.

Twonky & LMS coexist on QNAPs very nicely. Twonky as Michael said runs
on 9000 and LMS on 9001. I have never tried to run Twonky & LMS on a PC
though. I suspect there might well be port & firewall issues.

I have my LMS on a Vortexbox with NFS mounts to a QNAP (music only). The
QNAP runs Twonky for TV & PS3 use but is using the same media store.
