Transporter WILL play 5.1 FLAC... i've been doing it for 10-years to my surround receiver. To the OP, if you need to convert to FLAC on your Mac, there's a FREE transcoder called XLD https://sourceforge.net/projects/xld/. dBpoweramp is also avail for the Mac now and it's AWESOME!!!
