Noticed that I had a pre-installed Picture gallery plugin with the default path /share/HDA_DATA/ set. That would very much cover my photo folders. Still concerned though. I haven't scanned images what I'm aware of and if so final library would sum up considerably more files than expected. Briefly following the details line during scan I can't see that it goes through more than my music files in the accurate scan folder...
