No way am I going to try the last suggestion......

Anti-virus is AGV.  Had it forever, and no recent program update.

Will try LMS update - I must have missed the last couple.

Although the problem is intermittent - maybe once every couple of days -
a near sure-fire way to reproduce it is to click on the SETTINGS wheel
in the LMS interface!  Which does make troubleshooting laborious.....

Anyway, let's see what the update does.

I usually run the LMS interface under Firefox.  I suppose I could try it
under Chrome, just in case it's some weird browser issue (though I can;t
think why that would be...).
