I am having a similar problem with the LMS server not starting but I am having the problem on an iMac running OS Sierra 10.12.1
Please check the various threads about this. I think this issue started with Yosemite... basically a permissions problem in ~/Library/Logs. Give it all access to your user and you should be fine.
