That introduces double NAT and isn't the way top do it. Connect to web admin on new router. Make a note of its internal IP address and the DHCP range it operates for clients. For example it could be 192.168.1.1 The DHCP range could be 50 clients starting at 192.168.1.100 With the old router disconnected from anything else connect a laptop to one of the LAN ports on the old router. You need to change the routers IP address to be say 192.168.1.2 Then you need to switch off DHCP on the old router. It will probably reboot and you will lose connection - dont panic. Now plug the old router into the new router - use LAN ports on both.
