That device is mapped with a fixed drive letter and "everybody" has "full permission" so I think I've got that covered. I am suspicious it's something about seeing that drive, but other applications interact with it just fine.
I think your right to look at mip and evaluate it specifically. Ill soon try both what you suggest as well as creating other mip libraries in various locations and see how that behaves too.
