total. So yes, I'm running out of space with over 98% full. Does that
matter?

That should be fine. But are you sure this is the partition where the cache lives? Most NAS devices have a partition you usually don't get to see, but on which system data like this is stored. This partition is only small, compared to the accessible data partition.

Where does the cache live, and what does "df -ah" tell you?
