Btw we should not forget that built in lossy decoders in hardware squeezeboxes has some limits to ? Btw2 the SPH or Triode plugin does it decode on server ? or what ? There are exceptions they certainly dont do thier encoding with best practice in all cases :/ , maybe that improves with a lossless offering (or is it the UMG watermarks you hear ) . I've heard less than stellar sound , but that is not due to the format (as usual ) spotify must do things wrong sometimes ? But no streaming service do any real QC the labels are probably required to upload new versions for the lossles offering .
