This is an issue for me too. Every time the plugin re-installs itself, a few hours later LMS crashes. In the log, it seems to be scanning my photos, complains about some of the files, then dies.
Considering that I have absolutely no interest in picture albums, I am using is as a MUSIC server, it seems a bit off that I am not allowed to uninstall this plugin and have it stay so. It is getting to the point where my family, who have been singing the praises of our squeezeboxes (which we have had for over 10 years with no issues) are now asking if I can please replace them with something that'll keep working for more than a few days at a time.
