Many common ripping softwares does just that adds a m3u playlist ( and a cue ) right in the album folder and the playlist is the album . It's not good it's usually works anyway , so this is common in many use cases . I would remove them , there is also an option to set the scanner to ignore m3u,pls,cue for the music files . You can end up with 2 versions of one album . Yes a separate playlist folder and music folder .
